Welcome Point is an Australian platform and we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

We collect the least amount of information needed to help you plan and enjoy a stay.

What we collect

Depending on how you use Welcome Point, we may collect:

• Account details such as your name and email address.
• Trip details you enter, such as destinations, dates and interests.
• Preferences you set or that we infer from the way you plan, which you can review or clear at any time.
• Technical information needed to keep the platform secure.

Why we collect it

To give you a personalised plan, to keep your account secure, to support hosts in looking after guests, and to improve the platform.

We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information with service providers who help us run the platform, such as our hosting and database provider, and with mapping and place data providers when you ask for directions or recommendations. They may only use it to provide the service to us.

Cookies and similar technologies

Optional technologies only load once you have given consent. You can review the full register and change your choices on the Cookie Policy page or through Manage Cookies in the footer.

Marketing

We only send marketing messages if you have chosen to receive them. Marketing consent is optional and separate from accepting the Terms of Use, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Keeping and deleting information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it. You can ask us to delete your account and the information linked to it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold, ask us to correct it, or make a complaint. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
